We have a villian that gets three films to fully develop and serve as a constant foil to the protagonists, rather than being a villian of the week type of character. It's why I really love Kylo Ren as a character. Sure, expanded media outside of the films were able to do better justice for them, but not everybody has or will watch Clone Wars, Rebels, &etc to get that fill. Maul dies at the end of his movie, Dooku is hastily killed off at the beginning of RotS, and Grevious is killed off in the same movie he's introduced in also.Ĭonceptually, they're great villians, but within the context of the movies alone, they are so poorly utilized. One thing I don't like about the prequels is that a lot of the villains are pretty dispensable. Because that'll give him some more emotional baggage. Oh, and they just offed Picard's extended family back on Earth. Maybe he should have disappeared into total myth - out exploring the galaxy, for instance. it just feels like they could have handled it with far greater respect.Īnd on another level, part of me thinks Kirk shouldn't have died at all. They had employees doing AMAs to tell about the terrible work environment and spill the beans on development decisions, such as not changing even the most simple things like the order of challenges because they were so worried it'd break something and they'd fail certification. They sold DLC multiplayer maps that were literally unusable, because matchmaking was unable to find any matches whatsoever once the later two map packs came out. Randy Pitchford never apologized, because he's a giant douche. Then when it was a dumpster fire, they knew it was terrible, they released it anyway. SEGA gave them money to make Aliens: Colonial Marines, but instead Gearbox put a lot of that money towards their own game, Borderlands 2, and passed off Aliens to a third party. Gearbox really showed their colors with that game.
